Our gun store is an authorized testing center where you can take the required written examination to earn your FSC. This certificate is mandatory for all handgun and long gun purchases in California.

The Firearm Safety Certificate test is a 30-question written examination covering basic firearm safety principles and California firearm laws. The test is designed to ensure that firearm purchasers have a fundamental understanding of safe handling practices and legal requirements.

FSC Certificate Validity

  • Duration: Valid for 5 years from issue date
  • Renewal: Must retake test before expiration
  • Scope: Valid for all firearm purchases in California
  • Replacement: Available for lost certificates

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid government-issued photo identification required
  • No firearm safety training prerequisite needed
