Meet our Gunsmith

Spencer Tatum

Spencer had special curiosity for guns from a very young age and always had the largest collection of nerf, then airsoft, then BB guns in the neighborhood. Then he turned 8 years old and started to get serious. 🙂

In addition to the obvious functional & recreational merits of gun ownership, Spencer was a student of the history of guns from the their early origins through the untamed West through the civil and World Wars all the way up to current times. He even studied the differences of similar firearms manufactured in different geographical locations across the globe.

Spencer also enjoyed delving into the mechanical design and operation of firearms and enjoys telling the stories of the quirks of some models. When you have a chat with him, you just may hear one of those stories in the form of a “fun fact”. It was a natural progression for Spencer to find his way to the Lassen Community College gunsmithing program where he graduated in May of 2025.

Spencer was married this Fall. He and his lovely wife Cosette look forward to raising a family in Plumas-Lassen Region
