Pricing & Estimates Policy
Federal Firearms License (FFL) # X-XX-XXX-XX-X-XXXXX
(Awaiting ATF and CA DOJ Approval)
1. Purpose
This policy establishes Clear Sky Armory’s standards for pricing, estimates, diagnostic charges, and customer approval for gunsmithing, manufacturing, repair, modification, inspection, and related services. The purpose is to ensure transparency with customers, consistency in billing, and compliance with applicable California consumer and firearms laws.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
All gunsmithing, manufacturing, repair, modification, inspection, and diagnostic services
All customer work orders and service agreements
All owners, responsible persons, and employees involved in quoting, estimating, or billing
3. Shop Rates and Minimum Charges
3.1 Hourly Rates
Clear Sky Armory charges an hourly shop rate for labor and estimates cost for the job at the time of intake. Hourly rates may vary by service type (e.g., bench work, machining, manufacturing, specialty services).
3.2 Minimum Charges
A minimum labor charge may apply to all jobs.
Minimum charges apply regardless of the time required to complete the service.
4. Estimates
4.1 Non-Binding Estimates
Estimates are provided when feasible based on the information available at intake.
Estimates are not guarantees of final cost due to the condition of firearms and potential discovery of hidden defects.
4.2 Written Estimates
Estimates may be provided verbally or in writing.
Written estimates, when provided, reflect the anticipated scope of work and expected charges.
5. Diagnostic and Evaluation Fees
Diagnostic, inspection, or evaluation fees may apply even if the customer declines recommended repairs. Diagnostic fees cover time spent assessing condition, identifying issues, and determining feasibility of work.
6. Customer Approval for Additional Work
If additional work is identified beyond the original scope, customer approval is required before proceeding. Approval may be obtained in writing, electronically, or through other documented means.
Emergency or safety-related work will not be performed without authorization except where required by law.
7. Parts, Materials, and Outside Services
Parts, materials, and outside services are billed separately from labor unless otherwise stated.
Availability of replacement parts is not guaranteed and may affect pricing or completion timelines.
7.1 Materials and Special-Order Deposits
When parts, materials, or components must be special-ordered or procured specifically for a customer’s firearm, a deposit may be required prior to ordering. Deposits are typically equal to the full cost of the parts or materials, or a reasonable portion thereof, as determined by Clear Sky Armory. Deposits are applied toward the final invoice.
Non-Refundable Materials
Special-order or custom parts that cannot be returned to the supplier may be non-refundable. Customers will be informed when parts are non-refundable before ordering.
Cancellation
If a customer cancels work after parts have been ordered, the customer remains responsible for the cost of those parts and any associated fees.
8. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Firearms will not be released until all charges are paid and all legal requirements are satisfied.
9. Interaction With Other Policies
Storage fees, late pickup fees, and abandoned property procedures are governed by separate policies.
This policy operates in conjunction with Clear Sky Armory’s Customer Authorization & Liability Waiver Policy and Firearms Intake & Disposition Policy.
10. Disputes and Adjustments
Pricing questions or disputes should be raised promptly. Adjustments, if any, are at the discretion of Clear Sky Armory management.
11. Policy Availability
This policy is available upon request and is incorporated by reference into customer work orders and service agreements.
